UNREEL FISH was started a few years back. The journey started when my children received some American themed fish pillows while they were young (as their dad is a very keen fisherman and we had family ties in the US). As my children grew up My Brother started his family. As his children visited with us and they started fishing trips with their dad an interest grew with our fish pillows. At this stage my nephew was about to turn 1 and we really wanted to find him a Barramundi Pillow just like the fish his daddy was catching. So then we started the search to our surprise Nothing over and over again. Eventually I took it upon myself to work out how to make him one. With a few trial and errors I came up with a design, made one for my brother to give to his son. He posted very proudly on Facebook and to our surprise got a few people interest in buying it. So we sold it and I ordered some more material and made some more. My brother continued to sell a few Barra's to mates. A couple of years passed just selling through word of mouth. I found myself very popular now making 6 different species. I realised it was time my little hobby was turning into a business. During the xmas rush of 2018 I had received large orders from a couple of businesses. By March 2019 I created my Facebook page UNREEL FISH. Today I have Unreel Fish available for purchase at the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre in Karumba Nth Qld and at Wild Locol Prawns Ingham Qld. you can also find me around some local Markets in Cairns QLD. PS August 2019 during a market trip to Townsville I came to realise my brother had a decent collection of my unreel fish, But my nephew did not have a Barramundi pillow.(the pillow that started it all) 5 years later I finally made him his very own Barramundi Pillow. And he is super thrilled with it!
